Pastor Blake attended Prairie A & M University where he earned a bachelor’s of science degree in Electrical Engineering in May of 1980. He was called and licensed to preach the gospel at the young age of twenty five years old while a member of the Starlight Missionary Baptist Church of Houston, Texas under the leadership of Pastor E. Guillory. Pastor Blake also served as youth pastor for the First Baptist Church of Greens Bayou in Ea
st Houston from 1983-85. Under Pastor Blake’s leadership the youth ministry grew from 12 members to over 85 active members in the youth ministry. Sensing the need for further theological training Pastor Blake and his wife move to the Dallas area so that he could attend seminary. Pastor and Sister Blake joined a small mission church of Lakeland Baptist in Lewisville, Texas called Westside. The church called and ordained Pastor Blake to be its pastor in March of 1989. Pastor Blake was called into fulltime ministry in January of 1993 and immediately went and earned his Master’s of Divinity degree from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Forth Worth, Texas.
Pastor Blake’s preaching is always text driven for he believes in a bible taught congregation. He is passionate about proclaiming the Good News of Jesus the Christ, making the God’s word plain in the lives of believers, and at the same time equipping them for the work of the ministry. Pastor Blake led Westside Baptist Church for twenty-three years and during that time God used him grow Westside from a membership of about 30 families to approximately 2,500 members before he resigned in November of 2012. After two years of being away from the ministry, God led Pastor Blake to start a new church called Redeeming The Time Baptist Church in February of 2015 where he now serves as senior Pastor.
Pastor Blake married First Lady Blake, his college sweetheart and soul mate on August 9th 1980. They currently reside in Flower Mound, Texas. Pastor Blake hobbies include reading, traveling, playing Xbox sports games and following his favorite professional football team the Dallas Cowboys.
